Why Johnny Depp Is Perfect For Pirates Of The Caribbean?

Jack Sparrow has one of the best entrances in all of cinema. It tells us so much about his character in such a small amount of time. Instantly we know he is not very good at being a captain, yet is tremendously lucky with swagger to boot.

We Hadn’t seen this movie in years and we just watched it again tonight, and holy shit, it was so good. Probably one of the best movies made in the 2000s. Johnny Depp was enchanting, and absolutely everyone else’s performances were stunning.

The script was clever and funny and kept me on the edge of my seat even though we already knew the ending. At the end of the second act when it’s revealed that Elizabeth isn’t bootstrapped blood.

The ensuing chase scene was wonderful and the energy was high and it kept me enrapt until the end. What a wonderful movie, we think we might have a worthy second favourite behind Fellowship of the ring, which is the best movie ever made and fans of this movie will fight you over it.

What Makes Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Amazing?

We think the story, the pacing, the cast, the acting, the direction, the cinematography, the effects and the score are the perfect combination. The movie holds up in every way.

Exactly. Plus, in a world where your grandkid and your great grandmother were sitting in a room, you could show it to them and they’d both enjoy it. And you, being the movie fanatic you are, can appreciate it as well.

Alright alright, If You didn’t watch this movie till now so it’s your mistake. So if you don’t want to repeat your mistake, you can watch it or you can also rewatch it right now. On Stranger Tides. Netflix Canada doesn’t have The Black Pearl.

If you ask me to describe perfect films, We’d put up movies like Curse of the Black Pearl or Logan or T2 or the original Planet of the Apes. Movies that just have it. Like Matrix, Get Rich or Die Trying, albums that just have it.

We may have only been like 13 or so when the film came out, but we all can still remember all the chatter among my friends, “who wants to see a film based on a Disney ride?” And boy, were we all surprised.

Right from the introduction of Captain Jack Sparrow, it’s gone, time baby. They wasted nothing. And it’s brilliant. The second and third may be bloated but we will always argue that they are still great films.

We use the term perfect all the time to describe films, with the caveat that it means they perfectly executed the vision they were going for, not that it’s the best movie of all time.

Who Are The Favorite Characters Of The Public In The Pirates of the Caribbean: The Cage of the Black Pearl?

Barbosa and, surprisingly, Commodore Norrington are probably the two favourite characters of all in the film. Everyone is wonderful, don’t get me wrong and we also love those two.

Barbosa because despite his actions, he still manages to be such a fun villain. The film convinces you to feel at least a little sorry for him and his lot, but he still revels in being the bad guy and it’s such a joy to watch. Geoffrey Rush kills it in this role. Genuinely in my top 3 favourite movie characters ever.

Norrington likes it because he’s set up to be this insufferable hardass who always gets outsmarted by everyone else, but every time he’s on-screen he becomes more and more likeable. He’s brave, smart, honourable, a good fighter, and a great leader.

When Elizabeth chooses Will over him, the only thing he’s concerned about is making sure Will treats her right and he suspects that will be the case so he wishes them well.

You kinda feel sorry for him because he clearly would have been a great husband for Elizabeth. He deserves to be happy just as much if not more than any of the other protagonists and you Also know our top favourite Jack Sparrow known as Johnny Depp is also the all-time favourite to the fans of Pirates of the Caribbean.

Is The Black Pearl Ship The Best?

Black Pearl is one of the favourites of all his fans and our only favourite Jack Sparrow is the Captain of this ship. We love Jack’s motivation. With all the double-crossing, lying, cheating and such, Jack has one goal: to kill Barbossa with the single bullet he’s been carrying for nearly a decade.

When captured, he always put extra effort into regaining his possessions, including that pistol. He cares little for Will and Elizabeth, they are simply a means to an end, a path to get his revenge.

One of the reasons that the sequels don’t work as well is because Jack has realized his goals, so they had to invent new goals with the Davy Jones stuff.

Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl Is A Perfect Film:

We hate to use the word perfect, but what more could you ask for? That scene of the undead walking on the ocean floor with that iconic theme will stick with me forever. That movie was a huge surprise

But we know that the fans have different views about this. They think that ‘perfect’ is a pretty good word to use in this case. We honestly cannot think of one thing that we dislike about the original film.

We use the term perfect all the time to describe films, with the caveat that it means they perfectly executed the vision they were going for, not that it’s the best movie of all time.

What Makes Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse Of The Black Pearl Film Mind-Blowing from Other Films?

When we rewatched it this year we were astonished at how much of it is real sets. There are very few outlandish fantasy locations like in all the sequels, and most of it takes place in Port Royal, which is a huge set, or on the many ships that they all built and sent to sea to film on.

The action itself is also incredibly hand-made. The Ghost Pirates are (very good) CGI, but almost all other set pieces, fights and action sequences are practical / stunt work.

Curse is smaller but much more tangible than the other films. CGI is always best as an enhancement rather than the main selling point. Filming an entire film in front of a green screen always feels rather forced.

We think it also hurts that the actors are having to imagine what they’re looking at instead of interacting with their environment. Having watched the first three ‘Pirates of the Caribbean’ films again after not having seen them in years

Now obviously the reception was mixed about 4 and 5. We did not say that we disliked four, and enjoyed five but not for its quality so much as its fun. We have always been an avid fan of ‘Curse of the Black Pearl’ and it has been pretty much the only one we have continuously watched over the years.

We consider it to be a perfect film (not the greatest film ever made, but a perfect film). While the second and third instalments are certainly not perfect, we think they are far more successful than they have any right to be.

Dead Man’s Chest is quite successful in upping the ante, twice the swashbuckling and twice the weird quasi-mythology (which we were able to accept very easily thanks to execution), we kept our characters interesting whilst establishing new ones that remain memorable in our opinion.

Why is Jack Sparrow captaining the Dying Gull, not the Black Pearl, in Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales?

Close to the completion of the fourth film, Jack Sparrow found his old boat the Black Pearl after it was trapped in a little glass bottle by Blackbeard. Regardless, he had not yet figured out a strategy for conveying his boat from the container.

With Jack Sparrow by and by having a substitute boat in the accompanying film, more likely than not, the Black Pearl is at this point caught in the container. Regardless, possible Jack could sort out some way to recuperate it ultimately during the film.

Why Are People Considering The Pirates of the Caribbean Is The Best Pirate Movie Ever?

If you’re ever in the mood for just a flat-out entertaining flick, you can’t go wrong with ‘Curse of the Black Pearl”. We weren’t writing these reviews when this movie first came out, didn’t even know there was such a thing as IMDb.

So we’re finally getting back to it many years later and even though I’d forgotten a lot about the story, We were blown away all over again by the outrageous antics of Captain Jack Sparrow and those transition scenes where the skeleton pirates manifest in the moonlight.

The story itself might be incidental to the special effects and physical stunts that highlight the action in the film. Johnny Depp of course makes the movie with his swish-buckling (yeah, we misspelt it on purpose) approach to the character, and you couldn’t ask for a more fetching lady in distress than Keira Knightley.

Although she managed to hold her own against most of those menacing pirates quite nicely. Orlando Bloom and Geoffrey Rush round out the rest of the principal cast, and each did a superb job. We’ve never gotten beyond this movie’s sequel, ‘Dead Man’s Chest’, but watching this one again inspires me to go forward and check out all the rest.

What Is The Review Of The Public About This Film?

Awesome action and swashbuckling adventure, great music from the likes of Hans Zimmer, good visuals and Johnny Depp’s hilarious improvisational performance as Captain Jack Sparrow make the first Pirates of the Caribbean adventure fun action flick.

That’s not only a great first non-Touchstone/Hollywood Pictures/pre-2003 Miramax & Dimension PG-13 Disney movie but also a much better movie than a movie based on a THEME PARK RIDE has the right to be.
